             The above data results obtained from Minitab show the mean statistic of the provided house price data set. The information given in Figure 1 is supported by this as is the mean given as being 221.10 and the bulk of the price distribution is assembled around that figure. Also given in the result is the median, which is equal to 213.60. As the median is the middle figure within the data set, this proves that the mean value given is a realistic account of the house price data set. This can be clarified by the following: if the median value had been largely skewed from the mean value then within the data set, there would have been an abnormally high or low price value. That abnormal value would then have affected the calculation of the mean value. Since there is only a difference of eight between the two figures then it realistic value is proved.
