The Great Winter Chase

Jenny does not like to walk through wooded areas so she takes this path. We were in hot pursuit as she high-tailed it through. She went past the houses on the left and right, which drew the barks of the three dogs on the left. This held her up a little for she wanted to get to know the dogs. As we came upon her she lost interest, and continued the chase. She continued right up the street as we chased her. .
This is where the chase became interesting. Jenny passed the pond that ran through the center of the neighborhood and saw an astounding number of Canadian Geese on the other side. This pond had frozen over and looked like solid ground to a pup whom had had no experience with such things. The inches of snow that had fallen had also masked the appearance of the thin ice. Jenny proceeded to trot across the frozen top, but with the most dismay. For after one step into the pond she fell in through the ice. She swam around in a circle as we stood on the bank and watched. Jenny got out of the pond and shook off as much water as possible, but quickly formed icicles on her thick hair. We darted towards her, but she knew the pursuit was still on.
Jenny and her pursuers were both in unfamiliar territory as they ran through the snow covered subdivision. Jenny cut across all of the backyards that were adjoined to the pond which invoked the barks of many dogs that seemingly wagged their tails to cheer her on. The party was in quick pursuit, but the pup was bogged down by the stinging cold that the pond bestowed upon her. She then crossed through a bean field that connected my neighborhood with the other. This put us back on my street, but about three quarters of a mile down.
Jenny ran down a newly cleared road that ran perpendicular to my own, but she knew the area because of the many summer walks around the block. We were close on her heels, but still could not contend with her quickness. She then sprinted after the sound of a barking dog that must have been familiar to her.
