Associated Press writer Hamza Hendawi, wrote an article focusing on the undeclared warheads found in Iraq. He stated that eleven empty warheads had been found by the United Nations Inspection Team. Questions immediately arose about whether the warheads were defying a material breach under UN Resolution 1441. Many believe without a doubt that the Iraqis are in direct defiance of this resolution. Scientist homes were searched, mounds of earth were examined, and many conclusions were drawn. Should the inspectors continue searching or is this enough information to declare war? Iraq can determine the fate of its country by simply complying with the United Nations" rules and regulations, or war will be imminent.
As citizens of the United States of America we all want world peace, but the way things are progressing, it looks as though that is exactly what we are moving away from. If we are not being attacked by terrorist; then, there are countries holding nuclear warheads that could possibly be used to attack our country.
I do not fully support the ideas of war, but if a country, such as Iraq, holds a threat that could affect many countries, including ours, they should be dealt with. President Bush along with many others believes that by removing Saddam Hussein from power; war could possibly be avoided. Whether Bush's ideas are right or wrong becomes irrelevant at this point. We should stand not try to shame our president for his actions but we should stand behind him firmly in all his endeavors. Our president did not bring the catastrophes of nine eleven or any other terrorist attacks on our country. The terrorist did.
One of the main reasons we must go to war against tyranny and terrorism is because the history of the world. We know now, "bad things happen to good men who do nothing." The Holocaust taught us this very valuable lesson. By not bringing these terrorist nations under control, we are guaranteeing ourselves more terrorist attacks and a loss of democracy.
