Current Immigration issues

According to the Denver Post if President Bush’s amnesty goes through some people would be affected in a negative way, and others would be affected in a positive way. In a broad perspective the people that would be affected in a negative way would defiantly have to be the native population, that are losing their job opportunity to the lower paid immigrants. The people that would benefit of course are the immigrants, but also the government in an economic perspective, the employers hiring the immigrants to staff their business.

In our society there are many specific people or groups that would be hurt by this proposal. The main people that would be affected would defiantly have to be the native people that lack proper schooling, by this I mean the people who don’t have high school degrees, and the people who lack high school level education. There are 10 million native people that this proposal would affect just for the reason of lack of education. The reason why this affects the people without a proper education is because the immigrants lower the amount of pay by a whopping 5 percent. The increase in workers directly affects the decrease in wages. So this can be seen in an economic definition th

limit the amount of immigrants that come over. This means we would have to higher more workers to stop them from coming over, so where is the money saving in that plan.

The last fact that I got from the reading was using immigrants as subsidy, or financial backing in a business scenario really hurts our nation because the US taxpayers have to pick up the bill.

So in the overall I guess I really don’t know what I would like to see happen. There are many disadvantages and advantages, to all of these proposals. It would be nice to let everyone in to our great Nation, but sometimes there just isn’t enough room for everyone.

The part of one of the essays that said this problem about illegal immigration would take care of itself over time because they would increase the number of immigrants leaving and decrease the amount of them entering. I like this a little bit because like I stated earlier it would offer more jobs for my fellow Americans, it would save taxpayers money and a few other things. The reason why I don’t think this will work is because we tried stopping them from coming over before and we currently do, and they still get here. What’s going to stop them from crossing the border if we try to
