In this article Bandura gives explanation on how social learning theory examines behavior through the construction of effects by events. He implicates that cognitive factors in part determine how external events will be perceived. According to Bandura, social learning perspective involves a constant interaction between environmental influences, cognitive, and behavioral. This is why he believes that environment is what influences behavior; but Bandura goes on to say that the environment is built by a person's own imagination. The other strong point that Bandura made was that of the internal personal factors. He explains that behavior also distinguishes as determinants of one another, and how these interpersonal factors trigger various types of environmental reactions. At times different environmental circumstances may exercise an influential restraint on behavior. He believes that this may be the reason why behavior surfaces as the dominant determinant. Bandura gives an example of the man who plays familiar piano songs, so he could to produce a p
With the evidence provided I think Bandura gives a strong support to his opinion. He explains his theories well and gives strong examples to reiterate his point. I did not find any conflict with the evidence he provides. What I found useful was that he would provide information and then support it with an example or show a chart. A good example was while I was reading his unidirectional notion of interaction. After I finished reading it, I had no idea what he was talking about I had found it difficult and confusing to get a grasp of his point but he provided an illustration that showed how behavior, external environment, and internal events network with one another. A second example was the self-regulation of behavior chart. It recapped the various component processes in the self-regulation of behavior. What I found rather funny was that I think Bandura confused himself when coming up with this theory, so I think he tries to make his readings as simple as possible. I also observed that he had a couple of cited works. Some of his ideas and theo
