Buddhism was first founded by a man named Siddartha Gautama in the era of 563-483 BC. He was born (c. 563 BC; Kapilavastu, Nepal) into the Gautama family of the Shakaya clan. In Buddhism, the teachings were mostly based on his experience. Even though he was a man who had everything, Gautama realized he had to see more about initial human situations. Therefore he left his palace, and tried everything he could to get and know who he was, which he could not find out yet. This caused him to train by himself. As a result, “having thus discovered the facts of aging, disease, and death”, he became awakened, which he calls “Buddha” (Folder1, P27).

There are three basic divisions in Buddhism. First, Theravada, which means elders, emphasizes on monastic life and individual effort based on Gautama’s own experiences and thoughts, which are written in early sutras, writing

Secondly, True Pure Land Buddhism (the true essence of the Pure Land teaching) takes over a form of Mahayana Buddhism. This religion started in the beginning of Kamakura Period by Honen’s (Pure Land) follower called Shinran. However they created its original figure called Amida, who is believed to be dwelling in the western paradise known as the Pure Land (Sukhavati). Some sutras are about western paradise presided, of by Amitaba, which means longevity and infinite light. He was originally an aspect of Vairochana (Cosmic Buddha). It is thought that one will be saved by “Tariki” or Amida as long as there is faith in one’s mind. To show one’s faith in Amida, anyone who says, "Namuamidabutsu," with sincere faith, trust, and devotion, will be granted by Amida an eternal life of happiness in the Pure Land which has been set aside specifically for those who call on Amida. Also 48 vows were made which is promised to fulfill before attaining enlightenment. However I asked myself a question why this religion does not focus on Buddha or Gautama much. This is due to division of eras after the death of Gautama, Shoubou, Zoubou, and Mappou. Right now is Mappou era, which only the teaching of Gautama remains.
