During the campaign, Dalton McGuinty made a promise to bring all housing projects on the Oak Ridges Moraine to a halt. Unfortunately all the Premier has done about this is cut down the developments by 900 houses. Many feel that Premier Dalton McGuinty did not fight hard enough to stop the project altogether. People everywhere feel betrayed and are protesting against it. Environmentalists are worried about the natural habitat, after all the water supply is surely to be affected, and is the drinking water of the Greater Toronto Area. Also, wildlife corridors and air pollution will surely feel the negative impacts. Many feel that the government should spend the billions of dollars to acquire the land and stop the development; insisting the area should be a protected managed forest or conservation area. Winning the campaign was the first step for the Liberals. Following through with the issues they addressed is the next, and unfortunately, they are not following through with their original plan for the Oak Ridges Moraine.
