There is no way a film could recreate the butterflies in a soldier’s stomach as he prepares to battle for his life. It wouldn’t be possible for a film to create a repercussion of the pain and torture that a soldier would have to endure whilst fighting in a war or recreate the feeling of emptiness in your stomach, knowing that a overwhelming struggle lies ahead of you, knowing that your family couldn’t be any further away from you. So from this perspective we couldn’t be any further away from understanding and feeling what a real war is like unless we have actually been there and back.
