Antigone is the daughter of Oedipus, late king of Thebes. Antigone is a static character. Her feelings throughout the drama never change. She always believed that people should be given the proper burial services. If it meant putting her life at stake, she made sure that Polynices was buried properly. In this drama Antigone is the protagonist who fights for her families honor. She believes that the religious laws of burial are more important than the laws of the city. Creon is the brother to locasta, Captain-general of the army, and successor to the throne. Creon is the antagonist who believes that the rebel, Polynices, should not be buried. He thinks that he should be left out to rot, to show the city what would happen if they disobeyed him. He is also a dynamic character in the drama.
