Antigone.
Antigone is the daughter of Oedipus, late king of Thebes. Antigone is a static character. Her feelings throughout the drama never change. She always believed that people should be given the proper burial services. If it meant putting her life at stake, she made sure that Polynices was buried properly. In this drama Antigone is the protagonist who fights for her families honor. She believes that the religious laws of burial are more important than the laws of the city.
Creon.
Creon is the brother to locasta, Captain-general of the army, and successor to the throne. Creon is the antagonist who believes that the rebel, Polynices, should not be buried. He thinks that he should be left out to rot, to show the city what would happen if they disobeyed him. He is also a dynamic character in the drama. In the beginning he did not care about what people told him. Now that his wife and son have killed themselves, he blames himself. He knows that his bad punishment caused him to think about what he has done to his family. .
The Chorus.
The Chorus is composed of Senators of Thebes. The Chorus is dynamic characters. In the beginning of the drama, they agree with Creon's selfish ways. They tell him their opinions on how good he is handling the situation. When the first death happens they change their minds. Now they tell him that he is being to hard on his punishment. They agree with a person until something bad happens. They started, as antagonist but, later became protagonist.

Ismene.
Ismene is the sister to Antigone. She tries to talk Antigone out of burying Polynices. She also agrees to die with Antigone when she was captured. .
Haemon.
Haemon is Creon's youngest son and is also engaged to Antigone. When he found out Antigone's sentence, he tries to change his father's mind.
