*While trying to decide on what text I was going to choose I thought about my styles of learning. It came to me that visual learning was most productive for me as I found I could retain allot more information from a film or TV show then I could of a book. Audio suited me well also, yet I found it hard to analyze the meanings of songs, let alone the ideas of discovery. Therefore I decided to choose a movie which I enjoy, the Lion King, as I already owned it and I knew it would be the easiest for me to analyze deeply. I also knew that I could easily obtain information using Internet search engines if I needed any extra information.

*The plot outline for this film is a young lion prince by the name of Simba who is born in Africa, thus making his uncle Scar the second in line to the throne. Scar plots with the hyenas to kill Simba’s father King Mufasa and Simba

*Firstly, both main characters in these texts discover the different ways of life between places which they visit or live in. Simba witnesses the new land in which he is going to spend the next few years of his life, and says with an awestruck expression quote “You guys live here?” which signifies that not only does Simba like his surroundings, it is also completely different from the Pride Lands. Paul, the main character in the book Maestro also comments on how vastly different Darwin is from Adelaide. Quote:

* The other discovery which I believe has allot of significance and is a good example is near the end of the film. The discovery that is made is that of the truth by Simba when he returns to face his uncle Scar. Simba is hanging off a cliff with Scar looking over him. (this is a usuful technique of repetition that is used effectively in this film as this is actually how Scar killed Mufasa.). Scar tells Simba “I killed Mufasa’Thus simba makes a shocking discovery about the truth behind his father’s death. As Scar whispers this, the camera goes into a Extreme close-up on Simba’s face which shows the absolute shock in his eyes. Ofcourse while all of this is happening, the surroundings are on fire, which gives you the sense of how
