Dedication is defined by the Merriam Webster dictionary as “a devoting or setting aside for a particular purpose.” (Merriam Webster) This definition explains how dedication can be related to devotion. When one dedicates their self to a cause or event, they are putting time towards it. They are taking time away from a previous event, and putting it towards another.

Lou Rosselli, a US Olympian in 1998, explains how to achieve one’s goals in one of the toughest sports out there, wrestling. I also wrestled in high school and I understand what it takes to become a successful wrestler. Lou breaks

A holiday is a type of dedication devoted to a specific event. Thanksgiving is a day set aside to commemorate the unity of the Pilgrims and the Native Americans. Christmas is a day set aside for the remembrance of Jesus Christ’s birth. The people who celebrate these holidays dedicate that day to participate in events that remember that specific period.

On September 11, 2001, dedication was seen everywhere. When the twin towers in New York City were brutally attacked and collapsed, thousands of people perished. Included in the death count were fireman and policeman that were simply doing their jobs. The
