In 1909 H. G. Wells had an affair with Amber Reeves, who had a daughter by him. But it wouldn’t be the first time- starting in 1913 and lasting ten years, Wells had an affair with Rebecca West, also a writer. Rebecca also had a son by Wells. H. G. Wells died from cancer on August 13, 1946, only a few weeks short of his eightieth birthday.
