The contrast between both the movie and the play is that Odin was a basketball
player and Othello was a warrior. Othello and Desdemona were married but Odin and
Desi were just boyfriend and girlfriend.
The comparison between O and Othello is that the green-eyed monster showed its
head. There was a lot of jealousy and envy. Jealousy sets the plot in both the play and
the movie. It was jealousy that motivated the characters into doing what they did. A lot
of intense feelings are exhibited: love, hate, jealousy, envy, and even lust. In both the
movie and the play both leading men were black and were involved with white women.
Iago and Hugo wanted revenge on Odin and Othello because they were jealous of the
men. Roderigo and Michael wanted revenge because they were in love with O and
Othello's women. Both O and Othello had people telling them lies about the women they
loved. In result leading them to kill their girls and themselves. In comparison everyone
dies except for the people who planned the killings.
