The unfortunate decline in the readiness of our youth to enter the workforce or higher education, as compared with other similar countries, is incomparable. Because of our lackadaisical attitudes, we (the United States) are targets for ridicule. Foreigners come to America to obtain their education and find that we are a melting pot of lost souls. Bennett’s idea is that, we place too much emphasis on government programs but not enough in religion and education. His view for hatred against religion is that we (Americans) would have to question our own immorality. Any country that aspires to be great must continuously reevaluate the preparedness of its youth to challenge the future. We cannot logically center our moral bearings without aggressive action against moral decay.
