Hawian Adventure

The most memorable place that I have ever been to would have to be my trip to Hawaii. I went they’re originally for a bowling tournament but I actually went there because it was Hawaii, I didn’t really care for the tournament and I have never been to Hawaii before. While I was there I did a whole bunch of cool things like renting scooters, kayaking, swimming in the warm water at Sandy Beach, at not to mention bowling well in my tournament.

I went to Waikiki, which is located on the island of Oahu the summer of 2000. I was sixteen years of age and just got my driver’s license. Unlike my friends, I was on the island for the first time. For the first day there, our primary goal was to rent scooters and go on an adventure. However, I was not old enough to rent one. The rule was that you had to be eighteen or older to rent a scooter. Luckily two of my friends were eighteen and they rented one for me. The scooter that I picked out was red and it reminded me of a bright red Ferrari that had just been waxed. Since I have never ridden a scooter before, I was surprised at the fact that it was really easy to learn how to ride. It didn’t go to fast, but it went fast enough to drive on the road. We

On the last day we had our bowling tournament. It was a good tournament because I was very close to having the high score of the day at 285. Since we had the rest of the day we decided to go to Sandy Beach. The locals like to call it “Broken Neck Beach.” They call it that due to the enormous waves that crash right on the shore. People in the past have broken their necks by body surfing and colliding directly into the shallow ocean floor. We decided to go swimming in the 85 degree water. The waves had to be eight feet tall. My friends and I felt safe because of all the life guards on duty. It was exciting to just dodge the waves at there peak and looking down to see how high you were. I have never experienced that in my entire life.

The city of Waikiki was nothing that I could have ever imagined. The one way streets made us feel like laboratory rats trapped in a maze. After driving the scooter all day I could definitely feel a difference from the power and thrust of the engine. This is when I started to lag behind. My friends pulled up to a stop sign and made a left turn. By the time that I had gotten to that point, the traffic came through which made me lose my friends. I started to drive around in a panic because unlike my friends, I did not know the city. I took me three hours before I finally realized where the hotel was thanks to a friendly po
