Through examples martin Luther king strongly prove that for everything he says there is a real life situation that he has not imagined, or that is not a figment of his imagination.

Martin Luther king states,” one hundred years later we must face the tragic fact that the negro is still not free.” He gives this statement, but he also is able to back it up with a real life situation. “One hundred years later, the negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later the negro is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself in exile in his own land.” Martin Luther king state, “The negro is still not free.” He is able to back up his statement with several examples giving his audience real life situations to contemplate about. Now his audience can effectively see with him why Negros are still not free.

“It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given negro people bad check.” This statement was made to make America realize that all people including Negros’ were made a promise of freedom and that promise is being broken. This statement was to appeal to the nation as a cry out for help.

“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of creed. I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and sons of former slave-owners will be able to sit down together at the able of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a desert state sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.” By repeating I have a dream, martin Luther king makes it known to the nation that his dream should be everybodys’ dream and by repeating that phrase he is making it known that the dreams he have are imperative to the nations needs.

“And if America is to be a great nation this must become true. So let freedom ring.” This is for the patriotic side of the nation. The part that believes America is great and wants America to always be great nation. He lets it be known that things have to change in order for America to keep its name.

“Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado! Let freedom ring from the curvaceous peaks of California! Let freedom ring from the lookout mountain of Tennessee! Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. from every mountainside, let freedom ring.” Repeating “let freedom ring” establishes the right that everybody has to be a free person. His repetition helps concludes that freedom is the main goal America had set for itself.
