... astronomical researches and studies, the scientists decided to operate the HST as a long-lived and permanent space-based unit. In order to carry out the missions and protect the spacecraft against instrument and equipment failures, NASA set up regular servicing missions. It might seem a little bit odd ... their servicing missions instead of just having it on the ground. Nevertheless, the idea of the project was to build a telescope that would reach out far longer into space than ever. The HST is actually providing scientists with better results than any ground-based telescope ever could...

... to conclude: "That there are what I or anyone would call supernatural forces at work is now, I think, a scientifically proven fact."" The evidence speaks clearly regarding the existence of a non-contingent, eternal, self-existent Mind that created this Universe and everything within it. Clearly God is the Mind behind ... fact he verified this statement as being "an analytically true statement". To be fair to Ricci, and others like him, let me quickly point out that while they agree with the thrust of the theist's argument (i.e., that design leads inevitably to a designer), they do not b...

Calculations, which later turned out to be an error, had predicted a planet beyond Neptune (Littmann 72). Not knowing the error, Clyde Tombaugh discovered Pluto in 1930. ... Neptune, the eighth planet from the Sun, is an unusual planet. Because of the interaction with Pluto's eccentric orbit, Neptune is the most distant planet from the Sun for 20 out of 248 years ("The Planets"). It is made up of various ices and rocks, and its atmosphere contains mostly hydrogen with some helium and a little methane. Along with Uranus, this ... to the same degree as the huge Martian dust storms or unbearable intense heat on Venus do.
