Lent

We are preparing for the Great Lent or 50 days Lent. The Lent will begin this year on March 2nd, Sunday. Lent, as we know very well, it is a special time of fasts, prayer and meditation upon the word of God. During this time, we should take special time and effort to recapitulate or review our life in the light of Scripture. Let this may help us to repent and it may lead us to real confession. To attain this goal we have to take special time and effort to meditate deeply up on the, life, teaching, his death on the cross and His victorious Resurrection. When we think about the meaning of the name, Jesus is Yhah is salvation or Yhah saves or has saved. The word "Christ" in its origin has an adjective meaning "used as an ointment or slave". Later it modified and used for the "anointing oil". In New Testament this term used for the "Anointed one". The name Christ used with the meaning "Messiah" of God. The meaning and assertion of this name is the" Suffering Servant of the Lord". Here stress is on the sacrificial act of our Lord. This important vision we see in the Prophesy of Isaiah. This great thought he shared through the ministry of the "Suffering Servant Of Yahweh". The suffering of Christ the Messiah, is for the Salvation of sinful man. This is the wonderful act of God for the sinful world. Through the passion and sacrifice of our Lord on the cross, we are getting salvation from our sinful death. We should see the death of our Lord as the expiatory offering for the liberation of mankind from sin and its punishment. During the Lent, let us meditate and reflect, on the great act of saving, of our Lord through His life and sacrifice. As the members of Christian Church, our important responsibility be this in the words of St. Paul "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God" (Eph.
