King Andrew I

The United States of America was founded on the basis that every man had certain unalienable rights, and no man should be able to change or take those away. The American people struggled to win freedom from the oppression of a domineering King, and fought a war because of what they believed in. Yet, with power hungry presidents, like Andrew Jackson, the future seemed as dim as the past. Andrew Jackson acted very similarly to a king when it came to dealing with issues such as peoples money, peoples land, and even who people socialized with.
Our President was very fond of a woman by the name of Peggy Eaton, she was not liked by the wives of his cabinet members, though. These wives thought Peggy to be an outcast of society, Ms. Eaton's unusual ways did not fit the demeanor of a typical lady of the time. Therefore, Ms. Eaton was not invited to many social events, and was not in the company of many of these women. All of this was to change though when Mr. Jackson threatened to fire these ladies husbands from his cabinet if they did not socialize with Ms. Eaton. This proves that Jackson demanded respect from all of people much as a King would demand respect from his subjects.
Besides the cabinets wives, who Jackson did not like, Jackson also hated the big institutional monster called the federal bank. Jackson viewed the bank as a tool of greedy men, and thought it was doing nothing to help the economy of the United States. So, when it came time to re-charter the bank Jackson, in spite of the up coming election, vetoed the bank charter of 1832. The bank was doomed to close in 1836, and funds dispersed through out the United States smaller privately owned banks. These banks though, lent the money recklessly, and lent too much of it so now the banks were in trouble, or what they called a bank panic. A bank panic is where the bank has no more money to give its investors, because it was all lent out.
