             William Henry Gates III was born October 28, 1951 in Seattle, Washington. Gates was born into an affluent Seattle family. Gates was the 2nd of three children of his parents William and Mary Gates. Bill's parents were involved in politics and business, they wanted their kids to be great and get involved in their lives. He grew up with a vision that every home should have a computer little did he know that dream would soon come true. Gates worked as a page at the State capital in Olympia, Washington and in Washington D.C. He and his friends would read Fortune magazine for fun. At thirteen, Gates enrolled in Lakeside, a extremely difficult and private school. Bill read ahead for his classes, so that he could spend more free time on interest, like computers and business. Gates later met his long life friend and eventually partner Paul Allen. They would constantly read about programming and electronics. Gates graduated from Lakeside in 1973 and enrolled in Harvard University to study mathematics or law. Later on in April 1975, Gates and Allen founded the Microsoft Corporation in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Companies bought there units from Microsoft because they were cheaper than building their own. On January 1, 1979, Bill moved Microsoft and its sixteen employees from Albuquerque to Seattle, Washington. They would eventually invent Microsoft Office and other known programs used today. In April 1983, Microsoft introduced the "mouse" and in November 1983, a graphical user interface known as "Windows" was introduced. On March 13, 1986, Microsoft went public on the Stock Exchange. At thirty-one, Gates joined the Billionaires club and became the richest man in the United States. Today, Bill Gates is still the richest man in the world with over $50 billion.
