Homosexuality and Christiananity

Another good argument is the right to let homosexuals and same sex partners raise and adopt children of their own. The gay activist and homosexual partners believe they deserve the right to do anything any other married couple should be able to do. A homosexual can adopt a child because orphanages cannot discriminate on color race, nor sexuality. So this enables a gay man or woman to adopt a child with no problems. If both partners want to adopt a child, and both have legal rights over the child. Protestors argue that both partners must have legal rights over a child because the child because they have a hard time having only one legal guardian getting medical benefits, registering for school, and other benefits that come with having both parents as legal guardians. So a homosexual can adopt a child, but another question comes into the picture. Can a gay or lesbian parent raise a child properly in our society? Being gay does not make you a bad parent right from the start. There are many good, responsible gays out there that have most of the qualities to be a good parent and this is how the gays argue that they are suited to be parents. Having a gay lifestyle alone is potentially harmful to a child's development when he or she is growing up. The child seeing his or her parents live the gay life style may accept the way of living and grow up to be the same, although this does not happen in all cases. The argument for the other side is that kids grow up in harmful abusive homes, and a homosexual adopting a child is better than a child going into an abusive home. So it's too much of a fine line weather to say that a homosexual can be an able, good, loving, parent or not.

             A question that is not so much in the spot light when talking about gay rights but comes up often I arguments is; should homosexuals be able to enlist in the military. When generals in the military were asked what they thought about homosexuals serving in the military, ninety-seven and a half percent do not want to have homosexuals serve in the military.
