What it Takes to Be a Regular Guy

In our modern day culture there are many characteristics that a man is expected to possess to be considered masculine. I am sure there are many different views by different men on which traits one must hold to be considered a regular guy. This paper will give many examples of what it is like to be considered masculine. It will also give reasons why women often go unaware of these things.
I assume that since man first emerged on to planet earth there has been characteristics that separated men from women. Appearance is a give away at first site, but there are many other distinguishable traits that separate the two. In modern day and time, in many cultures, it is considered manly to be macho. Another trait that is widely considered to be a masculine is not showing emotion. If a man approaches a man for conversation they will say comments normally to show each other their manly hood. There are many ways of doing this. One way is saying, "What's up man". Another common approach is a firm handshake. These are just a couple of the ways that men make masculine connections with each other.
Conversation amongst men is also is another way that men prove their masculinity. Whether the conversation is about sports or women, the talk is normally something to prove that they are manly men. There is a stereotype that if a man speaks feminine or talks about women subjects that they are homosexual. This stereotype is very erroneous. I personally believe that man themselves decide what is to be a "regular guy". For instance a man that is raised by an only a mother will sometimes grow up and learn by a women standards. That does not make them homosexual. It simply means they might know more about women or just respect women more. Men in are society are expected to like sports, women and beer. These are considered masculine things. There are many different views on this subject also. For example sports such as cheerleading and field hockey are considered woman sports.
