Your Attitude Determines your Success

            On Monday, March 1, 2002, I attended a seminar entitled "Your .
The speaker was Earl Sutle of Three E Corporation. Mr. Sutle discussed techniques and life styles, which will make us happier in life and lead to greater success for ourselves. I will discuss the main topics that were presented and stated by Mr. Sutle that would lead you to a happier and more successful life.
Mr. Sutle started by stating a quote from Emerson "The greatest discovery of my generation is to know that one can alter their life by altering their state of mind". This quote immediately grabbed my attention and from the faces and positioning of the other attendees at the seminar it grabbed their attention as well. Mr. Sutle stated "To find happiness, we must first rid ourselves from diseases of attitudes." Those statements made me want to know what those things were. To get us involved he asked us questions and told funny parodies relating to the five "diseases". The following is a list of those diseases: excuses, blaming, association with toxic people, procrastination and the statement I"ll be happy when . .
We were given tasks to complete; such as, writing a love letter to ourselves and taking a 17 point health and wellness challenge quiz.
Prizes were given away for answering questions that were asked. And Mr. Sutle told us of many things that occurred in his own life that led him to be where he is today. One of the things was sharpening your "jerk" skills. He showed us a book that he stated was the best book he never read; the name of the book was "Coping with Difficult People". He kept a copy of that book on his desk or in his car. When there were difficult people in his life, as there are at most times in our lives, he would just pull the book out so that the person could see the title and that would catch them off guard and may make them change whatever they were going to approach you with. And never forget the "bathroom technique", excusing your self you the restroom so that you can get your composure.
