This unification between scenes symbolises a large loop from the end to the beginning which will be further emphasized and continued through multiple viewings. The cyclical nature of the loop gives birth to implications that continuity is the source of causality, the inter-relation between cause and effect. This principle implies that nothing can exist or happen without a cause. This is highly relevant to Memento, with regard to the loop and the basis of repetition.
