Its Just Simple Courtesy

I was driving to school one day, when a truck in front of me grabbed my attention.
The truck had a very flamboyant license plate frame that in bright bold letters read,COURTESY MY ASS, THIS IS CALIFORNIA!? There could be numerous meanings behind this slogan, but I chuckled because of my understanding of the statement. It was evident that my understanding was similar to the driver's, because the truck's actions exemplified the slogan. The truck was speeding, swerving in and out of traffic, and cutting cars off all across the road. The driver drove like a madman with no courtesy to other drivers. Californians are rumored to be bad drivers, but I never really thought about it until then. For the rest of the day, I watched people drive, and was amazed by what I witnessed. Some individuals lack of driving manners is absolutely appalling. .
There are laws that drivers are expected to follow to ensure the safety of others on the road. These laws are enforced to protect those on the roads, but sometimes the laws are ignored and accidents happen. To begin with, drivers are expected to give indication of their actions. First of all, using a blinker before a turn or a lane change is expected by law, but drivers rarely use their blinkers. Not signaling before a turn or a lane change can be dangerous for several reasons. For example, vehicles that make turns without signaling cause confusion for other drivers. The vehicle may be going normal speed and then suddenly slow down and hit the brakes. By not putting the blinker to use, the car may cause traffic to slow down. The blinker indicates that the car will slow down for a turn, and therefore indicates that traffic behind should also lessen speeds. If the blinker were put to use, people would be able to anticipate when to slow down, instead of having to hit the brakes suddenly. .
Another example of vehicles not signaling is during lane changes. This can be very dangerous, because other drivers are not always able to anticipate what other vehicles will do.
