Role in Life

After a long two years of having a simple crush, I finally received the label of a girlfriend. As I watched Ty interact with girls, I hoped that someday I would be with him. Eventually I soon gave up and began to explore other options. Coincidentally, that is when he decided he wanted me in his life. At first I was in high spirits just to be in his arms although I could have not predicted the adjustment I would have to achieve. For I have earned the role of not just a girlfriend, but a girlfriend of a twin. By earning this particular role, I, unknowingly was accepting responsibility for becoming a part of his life and his brothers. The decisions I made in life would now affect them along with the decisions I didn't make. Once realizing the life I would now live, I had to think about the effort I would have to give. As his girlfriend I would have to trust his brother, have to trust, compromise and have patience with both Ty and his brother Chris.
Being involved in a relationship takes a great deal of trust. In my life, this has always been a fragile element. This is because once trust is acquired; it can be quickly taken away. In the past, Ty has lost my trust by having relationships with other girls. We soon ended our friendship because of the lack of trust. When the relationship began again, I worked on having 100% trust in him. This would mean that I would have to be confident that Ty was completely devoted to me and only me. At first this was difficult because Ty has numerous ex-girlfriends that seem to come around frequently. Rae is his most recent ex-girlfriend although Ty insist that they are still good friends. This means that there will be communication between them, and I will have to learn to accept that. This trust was gained from working with me and having Ty work with me because it wasn't always easy to be comfortable with them talking. In the beginning, Rae would enter the room and my heart would immediately start pounding.
