The World's Response to Terrorism

 

            After the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the word "terrorism" took on a new meaning. Before the attacks, terrorism was certainly taken seriously but after the tragedy on 9/11, the term became synonymous with fear and anger. The word "terrorism" is reflected in the free world's attitude towards security and protection. Millions of people are more fearful, anticipating another attack and wondering if they or a loved one are in danger. Officials who oversee public places such as malls, subways, airports, bus stations, churches and government buildings have taken precautions to ensure that their facilities are safe and protected from acts of terrorism. .
             After the destruction of New York's Twin Towers, most people who live in westernized countries have taken a viewpoint that Muslims, in general, are anti-American, vengeful, devious and dangerous. They believe that all young men from Islamic countries are trained to be terrorists or, at the very least, cultivated to despise the American government and what it stand for. .
             Although non-Islamic people groups have legitimate reasons for suspecting Muslims of a unified hatred for the United States, the facts point to a different conclusion: the average Muslim is not a terrorist or resentful of those who live in a free society. .
             the free world the word describes violence in the pursuit of political aims.The linguistic Sapir has said "Language does not exist apart from culture, that is, from the socially inherited assemblage of practices and beliefs that determines the texture of our lives. " (Sapir, 1970: 207) The way the word "terrorism" has influenced everyday culture can't be misunderstood. In this essay, I will examine the various ways in which terrorism has taken hold in the United States, and how the word has been used in a way that has changed our society.
             Gun Control.
             Undeniably, the most obvious manifestation of terrorism since the 9/11 attacks has been on national security.
