             "Whether a maid so tender, fair, and happy, so opposite to marriage that she shunned the wealthy curled darlings of our nation , would ever have, t'incur a general mock, run from her guardage to the sooty bosom of such a thing ass thou-" Brabantio accuses Othello of using witchcraft and drugs on Desdemona when Desdemona, who is beautiful and happy refused to marry any one of the handsome young men and ran off with a black man. Once again patriarchal power comes into play as Brabantio is insulting a man for taking away his ˜possession'.
             Act 1, Scene 3.
             Line 10-13: The Power of the Enemy.
             The Council has been given inconsistent reports on the number and the course of the Turks to invade Cyprus that the Duke doesn't feel safe because of the inconsistency although he has a basic idea of what is going to happen, he is frightened.
