Speech on Coastal Erosion Management

Hello, my name is Michael Patti and what I had to do for my assessment was evaluate the sustainability of current coastal management practices along the beaches of North Cronulla. I did this by visiting and collecting primary data such as photos and illustrations at three different areas along Cronulla, which were North Cronulla beach, Elouera beach, and Wanda beach, and by visiting websites. The answers to this question are vital knowledge when it comes to devising coastal management strategies, as the strategies simply wouldn't work if you didn't know the answers. I broke the question down into 5 smaller questions so I could work out the best way to manage the coast. The first part of the question was to identify the natural processes occurring along the beaches. These natural processes are: .
             Erosion.
Erosion is the wearing away of land and the removal of beach or sand dune sediments by wave action, wave.
             currents and tidal currents.
             Transportation.
Transportation is the movement of sand and other types of sediment in the sea and along the coast by waves. .
             Deposition .
Deposition is the process of material being deposited back onto the shore by the waves. These materials can include sand and other forms of sediment.
The second area of the question was to identify the human activities that occur along the beaches of North Cronulla. All along the beaches of North Cronulla, various different human activities often take place. At North Cronulla beach, there is commercial activity all the way up to the shore, including restaurants, motels, residences and shops, and there is a public park with children's play equipment and restrooms about 50m away from the water. At Elouera beach, there is the surf club, which is just behind the shore, and about 100-150m away from the water are more and more residences. On Wanda beach, there are surfers, swimmers, and rubbish along the shore, inland there is a park, the surf club, fencing and infrastructure such as electricity.
