Causes and Symptoms of Cerebral Palsy

 

The most unusual type of mixed cerebral palsy is the combination of athetoid and ataxic.
             Signs:.
             Any type of cerebral palsy is characterized by muscle tone that is abnormal; for example, reflexes, coordination, and motor development. There is bone and joint abnormalities and contractures (see appendix). However, the common signs include: tightened muscles, spasticities, uncontrolled muscular contractions such as facial expressions, difficulty balancing, unsteady walk, also diminished muscular tissue. Scissor walking (see appendix), and toe walking happens to those with CP. Due to motor dysfunction the effects of cerebral palsy range from slight clumsiness to severe impairments rendering coordinated movement practically impossible. .
             The symptoms of babies with CP: .
             Physical Symptoms: .
             Defects during birth (curvature of the spine, tiny jawbone, small head) at times occur along with CP. Babies do not always show signs of CP until they reach six or nine months and start to mobilize "delayed motor development is seen. .
             These babies that are born with severe cerebral palsy have an abnormal posture; body is stiff/floppy "while held babies curve their backs with arms and legs stretched; they also have a weak or shrill cry. .
             These babies have difficulty in sucking; they also have trouble seeing or hearing, and poor muscle control and coordination. They suffer from muscle spasms, seizures, epilepsy, and apraxia "delays occur when they try to crawl, sit, walk, and many more developmental stages. .
             Early hand preference, often occurs to children that have cerebral palsy. .
             Behavioral Symptoms:.
             These babies may exhibit uncommon anxiety, frustration, unable to focus, emotional problems and mental retardation may occur. .
             This condition may also occur due to an accident suffered during or after birth. .
             Symptoms of cerebral palsy may become more evident as children grow; however, they do not all display the same signs and symptoms "which frequently depends on the form and severity of CP.
