Having a vision for success in the organization in the present and future are teams that are successful. Bill Belichick and the Patriots are a perfect example. The Patriots are successful because every mover that Bill makes is not only for the present but for the future of the organization. There is not a player or coach in that organization that isn't there for a purpose. That's how they stay successful, the vision to win a Super Bowl is still the goal every year. .
Sacrifice is a huge quality to ask from a person. Those who are willing to lead leave it all on line for the people they are fighting for. Eric Liddell or the "Flying Scottsman" is Maxwell's example for this quality and Liddell's story is crazy. If you have seen the movie Chariots of Fire then you have a little bit of knowledge about Liddell. Other than being an Olympian and one of the fastest men on the planet, Liddell decided to follow his heart for missions and served in China. Liddell left behind a life of ease and comfort to serve others. Liddell should be the example for all of us to follow God's path for us and not our own (Maxwell 51). Parents are the ultimate example when it comes to sacrifice. Even though they have dreams and goals of their own they set those aside to spend that money on your football gear. Instead of using their time to apply for that job of a life time they feel it is more important to drive you to that sports camp that's a chance of a life time. They set down their goals for your own, just think about where you would be without your parents. Parents are the ultimate example for the leadership quality of sacrifice. .
The forth quality that Maxwell talks about is risk. Taking risks as some one in a leadership position is one of the most terrifying but most crucial part of being a leader. An amazing story that Maxwell shares about risk is about a man named Chiune Sugihara. Sugihara was a diplomat in Kaunas, Lithuania and was faced with a difficult decision.
