Traditional Marriage - The True Union

The controversial issue of same sex marriage did not become popular until 1969 when protesters in New York launched the gay rights movement. Christians in America have led movements against countless issues including: alcoholism, witchcraft, communism, and abortion, but homosexuality strikes a deep wound as it attacks the fundamental building blocks of a family (Beirich). Throughout history, most societies and religions have viewed homosexuality with disdain or have completely forbidden it. As a Christian, I believe that homosexuality is morally and biblically wrong, no matter how you look at it. I not only believe that the Bible is the final authority on homosexuality, as it states gay marriage is wrong, but I also believe that this sin affects children in this type of home. It is not natural to have only one mother or one father.
Homosexuality and gay marriage is a choice and is not influenced by genetics. Anyone can choose not to be gay; its like choosing not to be an alcoholic. Even if there was this Gay Gene, there is still a choice. Saying homosexuality is right, and blaming genetics, is the same as condoning someone for stealing if they had a gene that made them steal. God perfectly created men and women to be together and unite as one. Genesis states, Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh(Genesis 2:24 KJV). Marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman. Gay marriage goes against the primary purpose of a marriage: multiplying the human race and raising children. Before Adam and Eve fell from grace their sole purpose was to be united with each other and God and live in His garden. After the fall, children came, so multiplying and raising children became the primary purpose of marriage. In Genesis 19:4-8 the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is a primary example of God destroying wicked cities in which the men were committing homosexuality.
