Larry Ellison is the founder and former CEO of Oracle, he is currently rank fifth among wealthiest men in the world on Forbes. He was born in Bronx, New York but was raised in Chicago due to his family situation. Ellison showed strong attributes in math and science which earned him multiple awards while attending the University of Illinois. Soon after he encountered difficult times when his adoptive mother passed away. This led to him dropping out of college. He then became a computer technician and moved to California where the technology business was booming. Shortly after accepting a job at IBM, he and a few college friends started Relational Database Management Systems. This was the software company engineered for the CIA. Ellison took his business to a new level, he started to expand the company drastically. He changed the company's name to Oracle Corp. The company nearly went bankrupt which caused there market share to drop 80%. Ellison fired most of the managers and hired new experienced managers to save the company.              Larry Ellison has a lot of unique characteristics, but three of them caught my attention greatly. The first characteristic is passion. I feel Ellison had a lot of passion for the projects he completed for the company. Even though he had to step down from being the CEO of Oracle. He still today remains as the Chief Technology Officer. Elision believes that change in the organization will allow the company to become even more innovated and successful. The second characteristic is resilient. He is very resilient in both his personal life and mostly his line of work. Ellison struggled when the company came close to bankruptcy but he preserved through the hard times and used his strong management skills to overcome the obstacles.
