Short Story - The Graduate Campout

We were all getting settled in having a good time when suddenly everyone thought it would be a good idea to go have a fire outside in the abandoned field that it hardly ever used. We all grabbed our campfire gear and headed out the back door of the building. After we built the fire, we spent the next few hours beside the campfire singing songs and talking about our plans for after high school. One of the boys started telling ghost stories and the next while was scared with laughed and the occasional scream, everyone was in a good mood. It was getting late and I was getting tired so I decided to head back into the infirmary for bed, while the others said they would follow behind shorty after. .
I was carrying my flashlight and quietly entered the infirmary I started walking down the hallways when suddenly I heard a door slam behind my footsteps. Walking towards my campout place for the night, I suddenly see an image of a little girl appear. I decided to follow the image and see if it was really her. I saw nothing: no girl, no people – just nothing. I walked back to my sleeping bag and tried to convince myself that I was just seeing things. Suddenly, I heard a horrific scream! At first I was scared and then I figured that maybe someone was really there with me or the others were trying to play a joke on me. I decided to take my flashlight and go looking again. .
The first hallway was pitch black and looked like it hadn't been walked down in centuries. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw something. I got closer and closer and it wasn't moving. The object almost looked like a child and it hadn't been there before. It was the doll that I saw – the one that I saw the little girl holding. I slowly bent down to pick up with doll when suddenly I noticed a bloody trail. I was terrified but somehow drawn to following the smeared blood marks that led to the stairwell. It was so dark that I groped my surroundings as I slowly creped down the dark and gloomy stairwell.
