The People's Republic of China

Other paranasal organizations, including the Fisheries Law Enforcement Command and the Maritime Safety Administration, are seeing additional growth as China enforces its claims of sovereignty in contested waterways and island chains. (Wertheim).
Growth in China's Navy, even if it is fishing vessels, would put many people ill at ease. But, the Chinese government is of the opinion if China is only building up their merchant fleet then what is there to worry about? The reason for what some may consider displaced hate and mistrust may stem from the fact that people are leery of China's rise as a nation. Be it from the fact that China is still considered a Communist country or that almost every country in one way or another is currently in China's debt financially, some people do not put much faith into China. As Ai Zhong-Guo, a writer for AsiaPacificDefenceReporter.com, explains the precipitous edge that China currently stands on in terms with the rest of the world, "International media is fixated on portraying China as a threat to regional peace, a loose cannon that must be contained " (Zhong-Guo). China should not be dealt with like it is a small child to be punished. But, a plan must be put forward if only to avoid China lashing out at other countries, such as Japan or the Philippines, and causing destruction on a massive scale. Accordingly, the Communist country should not have military action taken against it only due to mistrust by other nations. That is why the following question is so important: should the United States send military personnel, such as Frigates and Aircraft carriers, and take military action against China to ensure that it does not spread its influence over more of the Pacific? Currently, there have not been any threats that China has made towards the United States specifically. We continue to ship goods to and from each other's ports every day. Should the United States prepare for a disaster that may never happen and potentially cause a political disaster? Or is it good to be overly cautious?.
