Improving Distance Education Programs

The Distance Education Program is currently popular among working adults. It seems to be a second chance for them. There are many universities that offered Distance Education Program with various courses. One of it is Science University of Malaysia (USM). Through this program, working adult can enhance their knowledge in working field and yet easier for them to get promotion. As we know, many workers who want to continue their studies but sometimes not until the announcement had to them. For example, most of the announcements related to distance education at the University of Science Malaysia is through the Internet, but not everyone is always surfing the Internet at the specific time. Therefore i think the method should be further advertised through print media and letters sent to all organization rallies, government or private sector. .
For my personal opinion, no one remembers an intensive course which is held annually, but because of this session students have the opportunity to understand related subject in the study. The views are very different atmosphere compared to the video conference. Students have plenty of time to reflect and consult with the lecturer to better understand and get useful input to achieve something that is excellent in the final examination. Lecturers can make initiative to get closer with their students by creating social groups like Telegram or What's Up applications. Through this social group, students are able to ask anything they don't understand in the subject to their lecturers. Lecturers also can respond and update their students immediately. This kind of interaction will make learning process becomes easier.
There should be a meeting between students and the lecturer at least once every two months. This is because, by meeting their lecturers, student will be more alert about their assignments, tests and also final exams. If not, some of them will lost in their world due to their work burden.
