Nuremberg – An End to Impunity

Translated, this means "living space" and Hitler was convinced that this was the key to Germany flourishing once more. "The Nazis became increasingly convinced that nothing can save Germany except a genuine expansion of her Lebensraum and the unconditional return of her old colonies." (Kruszewski, 1940, 964) This would also of course be the reason for the German annexation of Austria and Czechoslovakia; it was "the destiny of the Czech people and lands trustfully in the hands of the Fuhrer." (Kruszewski, 1940, 965) Germany would then further this campaign of annexation and invasion throughout all of Europe, and eventually the Soviet Union. This would lead to the involvement of most nations on the planet in this war, which would prove to be the most devastating of the modern world. .
             Dehumanization and Indoctrination Campaigns.
Under the veil of Lebensraum Hitler would also lead a campaign that was much more sinister in nature. This of course is what Hitler would refer to as the "final solution" to the German problem; the Jews, gypsies, mentally handicapped, and "others" that the Reich saw as a threat to the perfect race. This cleansing began almost immediately after Hitler's rise to power in the form of dehumanization. As early as 1933 we could see such underlying plans that would foreshadow the Fuhrer's true plans. "There then appeared the beginnings of a campaign to isolate German Jews from the rest of their countrymen. Former Chancellor Heinrich Bruening said in a campaign speech that communism could only be successfully overcome by those 'who bring proof of being capable of thinking and acting in a community of spirit inspired by true Christianity.'" (Whitaker, 1981, 193) With overwhelming victory in the national elections, the National Socialists were able to step up their antiemetic campaign and further isolate the German Jews.
