Absolutism - Three Views of Truth

Some people in the world see truth as black and white, no in-between, while others walk in the gray areas of partial truths or what they consider to be true for themselves. This leads to the different views of truth; we have divided them off into three groups, Absolutism, Societal relativism, and Individual relativism. The differences between the three conflicting views of truth will be explained and backed. Although there are different opinions on how truth is relayed, the truth is the same for every person; Absolutism is what we should live by, if the truth is not absolute how can you be absolutely sure, evidence will be presented for the differences between, Absolutism, Societal relativism, and Individual relativism.
Absolutism: "any theory holding that values, principles, etc., are absolute and not relative, dependent, or changeable" (Dictionary.com). Absolutism is compared to relativism, one being absolute and completely true and the other being true depending on the person who is speaking. By absolute truth it means "[that] if something is true it must be true for all people at all times in any place" (Apologetics 2.7.1). They believe that the truth will never change and that it is set into stone. No one else can decide what is right or wrong except god; and the truth is understandable and worldwide, lasting forever and never fading because "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever" (Hengeveld). While many people put their belief in absolutism there is still a large portion of the population that lives by the laws of individual and/or Societal relativism.
While Absolutism is the honest and forthright belief, in today's busy and continuously advancing world, Societal relativism has made quite a surge forward. Societal Relativism is the belief that society chooses what is right and what is wrong. To put it in perspective, society A may believe that murder is wrong, but society B might believe that murder is right; now if you are living in society A you must live by the belief that murder is wrong and vise-versa for society B.
