Summary of Genesis - Chapters 1-11

1-7. This shows two things one that woman is not the master of the world but instead that she couldn't even have control over her own desires as show in Genesis 3.6 with "the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate". This can be seen as a threat to mankind's ability to rule of their own domain. Secondly this shows that mankind was becoming more divine in the sense that they had now acquired knowledge that once only God/the Lord God had, causing them to become above their world significantly and begin to enter the world of godliness as shown by Genesis 3.22 "Then the Lord God said 'See, the man has become like one of us ". Both of these can be used to show that mankind was deviating from the path that God/the Lord God had originally intended. .
Another place we see mankind deviating from the path God/the Lord God had wanted is in Genesis 4 and 6. Within Genesis 4 we see the turning of man on man in the story of Cain and Abel due to anger. This can be show in Genesis 4.2-7 when Cain's offering to God/the Lord God is overlooked for Abel's offering then leading God/the Lord God to warn Cain that his anger was a sin "lurking at the door; its desire is for you, but you must master it". After which Cain goes on to kill his brother out in a field and then lie to God/the Lord God about the event. The story of Genesis 4 shows mankind becoming more susceptible to their own feelings and losing control of the world they were put on as well as showing that mankind was beginning to challenge God/the Lord God and his word. Then in Genesis 6.1-3 we see the marriage of "the sons of God" and the daughters of man, or the marriage of the divine sons and humanity via the daughters of men, which then cause mankind to become immortal. Immortality caused mankind to once again get closer to being Gods and therefore a threat once again.
