Leading a Continuously Changing Organization

 

            The author has been assigned the task of chief executive officer (CEO) to a financially stable organization which could perform better. The author's goal is to lead this organization out of a possible deterioration and organize it to serve its customers and most importantly lead the new and veteran employees while organizing the company to move "off-shore." The author will discuss how she would lead the organization by discussing the leadership theories she would use, adapt these theories to the employees and working environment and finally, discuss what effects the author's leadership skills and style have on how effective she can be as a leader in this work environment. For the purpose of this assignment the author will concentrate on the collaboration needed between new and old employees and how as a leader she can assist with ensuring success in the organization through changes.
             The business world requires leadership. Leaders are necessary for the success of the company (Spinelli, 2006). To lead requires to work with people and provide encouragement, but most important a leader must know how to be a servant leader to demonstrate he too is part of the team. Spinelli (2006) also indicates that an effective leader is responsible and leads appropriately. Furthermore, a leader such as a transformational leader is one who is respected by his followers and serves his employees and the organization to ensure success all around (Herold, Fedor, Caldwell and Liu, 2008). Additionally, transformational leaders arrange all employees work in the direction of the mission, create open communication methods within the organization, and then concentrate their work on solidifying and supporting their organizations for the future (Hawkins, 2009).
             Foundational Theories to Utilize as a Leader .
             There are many different foundational theories a leader can utilize.
