Life Changes - Being on a Tech Team

If there is one thing I learned in my psychology class that I will remember twenty years from now, it is that everyone needs a place where they belong. A place where they can be who they really are, and for myself in particular, a place where I don't have to hide my "nerdier" side. For me, that place did not really become eminent until I was a Junior in High School. I always was good at using and working with computers. One day, when I was being picked up from school in second grade, my mother was told I was in the office. She became worried that I had done something wrong since I was always extremely hyper and was bouncing off the walls every minute of the day, but went to find me assisting the Principal's secretary with her computer. .
I never thought that my skill with computers was anything out of the ordinary. I grew up around computers all the time. My mother has been a Software Engineer for many years, and my father worked as an Electrical Engineer making circuit boards. Computers were just always a part of my life. However, I didn't find the place to use what I knew until the start of my Junior year; I took the only computer programming class my high school offered, Java. I enjoyed it from the very first day. Being able to write a few lines of code to see "Hello World" print out on my screen was more exciting to me than anything I had previously done with computers. I saw this as a brand new way, at least for me, to use computers.
From that first day, I looked for every opportunity to use programming whenever I could. I used it to help name acids and bases in Chemistry, I used it to calculate the surface area of a shape in Geometry. There are countless other places I used what I learned, but none really changed the fact that I didn't know anyone else who enjoyed programming and technology as much as I did.
Then as I was walking through the hallway to one of my classes, I saw a poster that mentioned something about a "Technology Team.
