From the roots of compassion spring the fruits of nonaggression and nonattachment. Buddhists hold that all healings must have their foundation in the spiritual if causal aspects of physical disharmony are to be healed for the long-term. Meaning that a true healing will create shifts in belief and behavior. This is because Buddhist's assert that all of life, the reality of what is perceived and experienced, is an illusion. This illusion, called Maya, is a creation of the great Mind of being from which all forms have their origin, and is nurtured by the minds of mankind which is an expression of the Great Mind. Thus, healing the mind heals the body, since the mind is the progenitor of the body (Stein 9). Any healing system that ignores this, like modern medicine, is doomed to treat only symptoms, never reaching the root causes imbedded in the psyche.
Implied in the Buddhist belief that mind creates reality is the emergence of the term 'Holographic Universe.' Literally, a holograph is a projected three-dimensional image created through manipulating refracted light. In the context of this esoteric term, the Holographic Universe is the reality projected by the collective consciousness of humanity. Current observations of the attributes of particles have concluded that they act in much the same way as light (photons). One of the reasons how quantum physics revealed the observer effects the observed is that all phenomenon of consciousness is made out of the same material. Everything appears to effect everything (Brennan 42). .
Before the current capacity of the electron microscope was created, scientists theorized that a cell was rather stable until being interacted upon by forces. New observations have revealed that cell is in constant motion. The wall of the particle is a permeable layer of possible states/forms that the cell can transform into. Until the correct hormone, peptide, or intention interacts with the cell wall it remains in its current form awaiting all possible potentialities.
