Liberty and Equality for Women

 

            In the past, men and women have been treated differently. Women did not have rights and opportunities such as their liberty and equality. Married women had few rights in the eyes of the law. Women were not even permitted to vote. They were not allowed to enter professions such as medicine or law. The opportunities were never there for women to get an education because no colleges or universities would accept a female. Certain activities were prohibited to women including attending churches. They were bound to daily house tasks and totally dependent on men. Many authors such as: Lisa Foderaro, Amy S Patterson, Jennifer L Pozner, Pia Cayetano, Theo-Ben Gurirab, and Irene Wood have raised their voice to advocate and support women. Women want respects, equality and liberty in the society. Today, women should be treated with greater respect and equality because they play many important roles in family and society.
             A family will not be perfect and whole without wife and mother. She plays significant roles which influences the family structure. The married women of today are very different from the married women of past because they can go to work to support themselves and family members, and handle social problems. Sometimes men are absence from home, women can multitask and handle any obstacles throughout the day and everything can be fine when the chores are done by them. Both husband and wife have the same responsibilities to take care of their children, but each of parent will teach them in different ways. Dad can teach a child to be a strong person, and Mom can emotionally support his or her ideas.
             Moreover, financial expense is a main concern of the family. Women is also a part of contribution of family finance. The financial struggle can become a problem when the income source is suddenly lost due chaos in economy. When money is a paddle for the family moving along in daily life, losing a job can affect many families negatively.
