The Normalcy of Homosexuality

They have the same fights, the same expectations, and the same family support. .
There are so many relationships that have the love and support from parents but others do not always get that same treatment. The documentary Bridegroom shows the amazing story of Shane Bitney Crone and Tom Bridegroom. The love between them is like any other relationship, except that Tom's parents never wanted to accept their son for who he was. They imagined their son as though he was the army hero and baseball(?) playing little kid that they used to see. Shane's mom always knew her son would come out to her as being gay. He would dance around the house singing songs by different pop divas. One day in high school, Shane told a friend that he liked him, however the guy did not have the same feelings for Shane and when the parents found out they forbid Shane from ever seeing their son again. Shane's mom said if they could not accept her son for who he was then do not bother talking to her. It took a while for Shane's dad to come to terms with having a gay son but in the end he knew that his son needed the love and support from all members of his family.Just like Shane and Tom's relationship there are heterosexual relationships in which parents disagree with who their child is with and blame the relationship on that person. .
When Tom went home for Christmas, his parents kept telling their son that he should have come to them sooner about being gay and one day during breakfast, Tom's dad pulled a gun on his son and threatened to kill him. The next Christmas, Tom and Shane spent the holiday with Shane's family. The Crone family saw that their son's relationship was just like a typical relationship except they were two males and not male and female. The Bridegroom family did not accept it because of the way they viewed masculinity and their son. He was a masculine guy in high school by playing football and then going into the army.
