Boko Haram - Nigerian Terrorists

All over the world there have been many terrorist acts even in the United States, but in Nigeria many lives have been lost, including children who have a future ahead of them. Students have been kidnapped and have been forced to get married at a young age, and no matter how everyone tries to stop it, they never get close to finding the solution to this problem. Boko Haram has been terrorizing so many people in Nigeria and the Nigerians need all the help they can get to solve this problem. Boko Haram is an Islamic sect that was formed in 2002 in the northern Nigeria by Mohammed Yusuf (Sandbox Networks). They are bent on opposing Western Education, political philosophy, and society, and seek to overthrow the government throughout the country (Sandbox Networks). .
Some people believe that the United States should intervene in stopping the wars Boko Haram has caused in Nigeria. Others believe that the United States should not intervene because it is not their problem to solve, and, many lives could be lost in a problem that does not demand their attention. The United States should stop Boko Haram from terrorizing students and civilians in Nigeria because Nigeria does not have the resources to defend itself, children lives are at stake, and Nigeria's exported products needs protection in the interest of other allied countries.
Nigerians needs help to stop the Boko Haram because they do not have the resources to defend themselves, but Obama refuses to help Nigeria stop Boko Haram over its stance against "gay marriage" (Westen and Baklinski). Nigerians lack the resources that can be used against the Boko Haram, not enough trained soldiers, lack of weapons, and technology, whereas the U.S. has plenty of highly trained soldiers, vast weapons, and advanced technology to "crush" terrorists. According to U.S. Congressman Steve Stockman, said "top U.S. brass" told him they had intelligence to aid the Nigerian military to "crush" the terrorist group Boko Haram, but were blocked from doing so by the Obama administration because of Nigeria's stance against "same sex marriage" (Westen and Baklinski).
