Story of My Father

Of course, I look like my father. As my mother always said that my father was much alike my grandfather, I can infer that effectively there must have been some physical resemblance between my grandfather and me.
My father, a perfectionist and extremely strict man, impacted my life in many ways. I remember from childhood as my father always told me that men have to be strong, tough, never mourn, and less in front of a woman. My father was a distrustful person, with no known friends, but rather surrounded by individuals who could not see him even in their wildest nightmares. My father was also a violent man. People say that there was a man in town to whom my father punished by ordering to cut his arms for reasons beyond my knowledge. Another man used to be his close friend, but there was too much rivalry between them during their military careers, which resulted in both of them ending as enemies for life.
When I was between seven and ten years of age, my father used to take me with him on his business trips. These trips were very exciting, but at the same time they produced much fear and apprehension. The character of my father was very unpredictable, and it was difficult to know whether the trip would go smoothly, or if at any moment he would be angry for some reason, retaliating his anger with the closest person, who, unfortunately, was always me.
That did not stop my desires to travel with him as much as I could to get to know him better and learn to be a good man like him. After all, my father was my idol, he was the only male figure in my life, since I had no other male siblings, and only had three older sisters. Later in life I would realize that growing up with my sisters was a strong influence in making me the man I am today. You could say that I understand women more than I understand men. I believe that was my destiny, and no one can beat it. .
During my childhood I remember that during Christmas, the only toys that I always found under the tree were war trucks, planes, toy soldiers, plastic guns that seemed real.
