Foreshadowing in Romeo and Juliet

Doubt the truth to be a liar, but never doubt I love" (Shakespeare quotes hamlet). Romeo and Juliet were born and destined to fall in love and then die.Their families ensiled this fate through the feud they withheld with one another. This story ends in a tragedy, unlike many others with makes it distinguishable and why it is also so well known, this isn't a love story, but a story of violence and tragedy.Shakespeare uses foreshadowing to portray Romeo and Juliet's fate which helps the reader understand the plot points that are to appear. They were not able to escape their destiny, but by using foreshadowing shakespeare helped us understand why. In the lines "I fear, too early: for my mind misgives some consequence yet hanging in the stars shall fearfully begin his fearful date with this night's revels and expire the term of a despised life closed in my breath by some vile forfeit of untimely death" (1.iv.112-117) Romeo is foreshadowing his death which is the most crucial part throughout the whole poem. .
Romeo becomes aware of the "consequence" of going to the party, but chooses to anyway and he acknowledges that this could very well lead to his death, however he enters by his own will. This further emphasises that the two lovers (Romeo and Juliet) are bound together by fate and foreshadows the death they have yet to face. Death is inevitable, but how one dies is determined by fate and whether one can change that or not is up to them, but death will come, Romeo and Juliet's untimely ending came tragedy and Shakespeare used these lines to show that this will indeed happen in the near future. The author also used these lines to show that when one defies their duties whether by fate or not consequences will come, he does this by showing that through Romeo's actions of going into a place he had no right being he suffered the worst consequence of all; death. However this death was not just his, but his lovers as well which shows that in some cases one will depart from their positions to follow their heart and what they believe which is also what Juliet has done.
