Besides, he states how reading could be useful for writing skills more than writing classes. King's suggestions and advice can be useful for all college students in many ways to improve their writing skills by reading non-academic novels, high-quality novels, or reading through other sources of media.
Stephen King suggests that reading more can develop our writing skills positively even if it was a bad novel or a bad article. For example, reading low-quality novels allows the writer to observe the flaws and errors in the writing to develop the writer's skills; moreover, these kinds of novels can be beneficial to writers because reading them could be easy and clear for writers, so that it leads writers to improve to higher levels in writing. Also, analyzing the bad novels could be fast for writers and it does not take long time for reviewing or editing. Also, it is easier for writers to understand the concept of the whole novel and to improve it with a better style and strategy. King explains (73) " Reading a bad novel is worth a semester at good writing school, even with the superstar guest lectures thrown in". This can be stated as true as my past experience in reading has shown and it can also be seen from the way it has affected my writing skills . .
Sophisticated novels are sometimes difficult to understand but this is how to become a better writer by experiencing academic thoughts and organizations. Good novels allow writers to seek for different styles of writing and to find the best method to use in order to catch the audience's attention.
