Kanye West: Yeezy and Yeezus

 

The accident gave him inspiration, a blessing in disguise; about two weeks after being let into the hospital he recorded his first song about his experience with his jaw still wired shut. Kanye's first billboard single 'Through the wire' peaked at number fifteen for five weeks. His determination was unparalleled with his drive to this day; in early interviews of Kanye he is seen with an attitude that projects fame before he achieved it.
             Mr. West had a talent for producing catchy samples which would make billboard charts, and even win Grammys. For example, the track "Jesus Walks" was nominated for 'song of the year' and 'best rap song' in two-thousand and five. It won one of the nominations, and the song had two audio samples from "Walk With Me" by The ARC Choir, and "(Don't Worry) If There's a Hell Below, We're All Going to Go," by Curtis Mayfield. With a plethora of soul samples Curtis Mayfield is Kanye's most sampled artist. Mr. West's samples were in sync with his lyrics. His message in his first three albums involve being yourself and doing what you want while not letting society tell you what to do.
             Yeezy won all but one of his Grammys before the release of his seventh album "Yeezus". Three won in two-thousand and five, three more won in two-thousand and six and three in two-thousand and eight, two won in two-thousand and nine, two more in two-thousand and ten and finally a collective amount of six between two-thousand and twelve and two-thousand and thirteen. His determination payed off giving him numerous accolades through music, but somewhere along the way he was side tracked. Kanye is considered a global trendsetter and urban style leader by the business of fashion. He has collaborated with Nike and Louis Vuitton on sneaker lines; he also launched a short-lived women's wear label in two-thousand and fifteen. .
             On June eighteenth, two-thousand and thirteen Kanye west released his sixth studio album; the album divided his fans like a hot knife through butter.
