            Americans Viewpoints on Bush's Actions .
             The United States is primarily split in half on agreeing or disagreeing with how George Bush has handled the events prior to the September 11th attacks. According to a Time/CNN poll, 57% of Americans felt that the U.N. Security Council should have the final say on the disarmament of Iraq as opposed to the U.S. President and Congress. But, the majority of Americans have complete trust in Bush that he will make the right decisions to protect the United States. .
             Over half of Americans support George Bush in his decision to follow through with a war against Iraq. Most Americans are okay with the idea of going after Saddam Hussein, but other people such as Thomas Murphy, a World War II veteran, said, "we need to get that bunch that bombed the World Trade Center first- (Karen Tumulty 42). Supporters of invading Iraq believe in President Bush's actions because they would rather have the war on America's terms versus allowing Saddam Hussein to rebuild Iraq's arsenal of mass destruction. For those that are in complete support for the war, say "those who oppose it without offering any credible moral alternative are not merely wrong and misguided. They are helping to perpetuate a deep and intolerable injustice- (Andrew Sullivan 44). The war becomes important for our national security if we have done all we can to work with Iraq for compromising towards peace and justice. Americans have been taught that going to war is an act of seeking justice, not necessarily revenge. More American adults rate the job President Bush has done in handling the issue of Iraq over the last several months as positive than negative. The president's approval rating "is holding at 70 percent, but approval on his handling of the situation with Iraq may have slid a bit since Sunday's high- (Poll). Despite the drop, it is more likely that attitudes of the Americans will tilt further in Bush's direction if he decides to order U.
